Sipapu is a limited edition artist book that explores the invisible boundaries between life and death through various symmetries. Sipapu is the Hopi word for a small portal that separates the physical world from the spiritual world. This portal, which in the book also appears as a wound or a point of origin, is related to the line of symmetry that separates one side of an image from its reflected other. Embedded in the work are themes of attachment, bewilderment, and loss.
Sipapu is sold out.
