There Yet is a video installation comprised of looping footage of American landscapes as seen from the passenger side of a moving automobile. The video was projected onto the interior of a store front window as part of the Open Spaces Chattanooga project.
Each scene in There Yet is nondescript, understood only as different from other scenes. Viewers are challenged to determine the specificity of each location as the scenery relentlessly passes. Viewers, who must stand between a “real” street and a copy, find themselves in a kind of “non-place,” where the destination is invalidated by constant journey. There Yet will be on display at Chestnut St and 7th Ave every night after sundown until October 2015.
